League Rules Updates

·        A proposal to allow player building for non-program teams was voted on.  This proposal would allow a team not in a program to use players from a lower-level team (also not in a program) for the purpose of player building.  This proposal did not pass.

·        A proposal to allow teams to borrow players under a forfeit condition was voted on.  This proposal would allow a team in danger of forfeiting a game to borrow players from a lower-level team so as not to forfeit.  Only enough players needed to play the game may be borrowed.  If the borrowing team is national-bound, this game will not count towards their required number of games.  This proposal passed and will be added to the SSWHL rules.

·        A proposal to define rules surrounding forfeits was made.  The proposal would issue a warning to any teams with 1 forfeit.  Should that same team have a second forfeit, the board will review the circumstances and may expel the team from the league.  This proposal passed and will be added to the SSWHL rules.

·        A proposal to define penalties for late payments of forfeit fees was made.  The proposal would allow a team 30 days from the date of the forfeit to pay their forfeit fee (calculated by the league Treasurer).  If this fee is not paid within 30 days of the forfeit, the team will receive a warning.  If this fee is not paid within 60 days of the forfeit, the team will be expelled from the league.
